About Evan Ganick - LCSW, MSW, MA
Evan is a dedicated, compassionate, and genuine provider of psychotherapeutic services.

He believes that therapy is an essential tool for integrative change to improve all aspects of our lives. The therapeutic journey takes time and energy - it's a deep dive into your psyche to unlock the barriers that have been holding you back.

After witnessing the significant lack of LGBTQ+ competent therapists and even greater lack of therapists that could practice beyond affirmative modalities (telling the client what they want to hear - rather than what is important for growth), Evan was inspired to create this practice. Mindfulness - an integrated presence with your thoughts, feelings, and actions - generates the possibility for transformation.
Evan hopes to foster an empathetic, flexible, and effective experience for clients based in his passion for psycho-analysis, Jungian, and existentialist work.
Evan received his Graduate MSW degree from the University of Southern California, Dworak-Peck School. He received his Bachelor's degree from The University of California, Santa Barbara, majoring in Religious Studies. Evan has worked under multiple group practices focuses on trauma recovery and sexual intimacy prior to establishing Mindful Gay Therapy, which he created to focus on the specific needs of the gay and broader LGBTQ+ community.

Prior to being a therapist, Evan lived in Nepal and India studying mindfulness and Vipassana meditation at the Ramana Maharishi Ashram (Tamil Nadu) and Kopan Monastery (Kathmandu). When Evan is not in session with his therapy clients, he is taking care of his livestock herd on his farm.
